Lotus Physical Therapy is a physical therapist owned-practice.

Director, Luba Starostiak, physical therapist has been practicing physical therapy for over three decades. She graduated from Hunter College School of Health Sciences with high honors in 1991 with her major in Physical Therapy.  In 2000, she went on to achieve her Orthopedic Specialist Certification through the American Physical Therapy Association, 2000 through 2020.  She has been on staff at several New York teaching hospitals including Hospital for Joint Diseases, Hospital for Special Surgery and Helen Hayes Hospital.  She has worked in the private clinic setting treating female pelvic floor dysfunction, Women's Health-related conditions, as well as musicians, professional dancers and gymnasts.

Ms. Starostiak has extensive training and experience in Orthopedic Manual Therapy as well as Pelvic Physical Therapy and Women's Health-Related Issues. She has contributed to written articles and texts in the area of Women's Health and wellness. She has served as an adjunct professor teaching Women's Health Sciences to physical therapy students in the doctoral degree program at Dominican College, in Rockland County, New York.  She has appeared as a repeat guest speaker on various medical radio talk programs in the New York region on the topics of Pelvic Floor Dysfunction and Exercise and Pregnancy.  In 2009, she completed 500 hour yoga teacher/therapist certification through Yoga Mountain Wellness Center in New York. She is presently pursuing a Women's Health Training certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine.

Her personal experience as a former dancer and current yoga practitioner bring a deeper understanding of the body and movement to her professional health-care practice.  She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (Orthopedic and Women's Health sections), the National Vulvodynia Association, the International Pelvic Pain Society, the Interstitial Cystitis Network as well as the Society for Women's Health Research.
